Nothing objectionable so I wouldn’t say kids shouldn’t read this, I just wouldn’t recommend it unless it’s to someone ghe absolutely loves books about knights and castles, with a little magic thrown in.

Families can talk about an apparently unintentional ethical double standard in the story: Igraine’s family is somewhat amused, but altogether very supportive of her unconventional career plans, she and her older brother get along remarkably well overall, everyone seems affable enough about the unfortunate spell mishap that transforms igrainr parents, and due to the host of enchantments on their castle, one never really feels that it and the magic books are ever really that much in danger during the “siege” by the villain Osmund.

This is lighthearted fantasy, mostly played for laughs, in which even the dragons just want to be irgaine alone to live their lives. She only pretends to be strong and the author is just messing with your kids.
