There was a problem filtering reviews right now. It also contains serious warnings against unguided use of the gift of mediumshipespecially without the necessary seriousness. He is also the author of The Gospel as Explained by Spirits Explore the Home Gift Guide. I personally love Victorian Literature emdiums of it’s tangents and dry sarcastic humor. The teachings come from a Spiritist viewpoint, which I favor.

Another issue I have with this book is how remarkably classist it is. Those are just small distractions that do not interfere with the interpretation of the material.

In its pages one will find a classification of paranormal phenomena, with a special focus on those capable of communicating messages, and thorough descriptions of the mechanisms that — according to Spiritism — were involved.
I understood from the beginning the gravity of the exploration I was undertaking. Spirit tapping had become very popular in France and the USA and it involved the apparent unaided movement of objects by spirit forces to answer questions by tapping out noises on surfaces with the amount of knocks translating to numbers of the alphabet. At the end of the book there is a helpful basic Spiritist glossary.

The book presents the teachings of the Spirits on all types of spirit manifestations, the ways of communicating with the invisible world, the different types of mediums, the development of mediumship, and the difficulties and obstacles that may be found in the practice of Spiritism.
Reading these books is not hard and I think application of common sense will go a long way toward personal validation of what is stated to the reader. Anyone interested in learning about Spiritism presented from a Christian perspective would want to read these books in the order they were published.
